BOHEMIAN CHIC APARTMENT

This bohemian chic East London apartment is an elegant explosion of colour and pattern that recently featured in 25 Beautiful Homes magazine. Fully renovated and cleverly transformed from a tired one bedroom apartment into a stylish two bedroom home, we moved the kitchen into the living space and put back the original Victorian features including picture rails, ceiling roses and beading. Statement chandeliers were used in each room, even in the small, New York inspired bathroom.

Vintage pieces sit side by side with East London design staples including upholstery and wallpaper by House of Hackney. The master bedroom is an homage to the owner’s travels including a Balinese four-posted bed an Indian Dhurrie rug and artwork found in a Cambodian market. The new second bedroom displays artwork from the owners collection and a fabric ‘headboard’ created from batik fabric found in an Indian market. The decor scheme was throughout devised from a palette of paint colours by Farrow and Ball
